Short Bio

John Rankin is also on the faculty of Tulane University and the University of New Orleans. He was the second-place award winner for the 1985 American Fingerstyle Guitar Festival, and in 1992 and 2003 won the Big Easy Award for best folk music. He performs in New Orleans on a regular basis, including every New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival since 1981, and he has released two recordings. He has been with the College of Music faculty since 1985.
