The purpose of the Bachelor of Music in Music Industry Studies degree is to provide students with the opportunity to advance their pre-existing knowledge of a music instrument by providing them with the business foundation required for a career in the music industry. Advanced students will also be able to take courses in film scoring, commercial arranging, songwriting, and other commercial music enterprises.
This major provides music students with the business tools needed to maintain a sustainable career in the music industry.
The BM degree offers program-specific courses in Music Industry Studies that focus on legal issues in music, music marketing, music management, music administration, and multi-media production.
While students learn the basics of the music business, they also gain a better understanding of their music instrument through applied study, music theory courses, and the opportunity to perform in ensembles.
Through the program, students will recieve exciting internship opportunities in music capitals like New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, and New Orleans.
