Short Bio

Mark Grote has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally. He received a Fulbright to England in 1992 and has received numerous grants from the National Endowment of the Arts. His work is placed in many public and private collections, including the K & B Collections New Orleans, LA; Virlane Foundation New Orleans, LA; Pan American Life Insurance Company New Orleans, LA; Museum of Art in Alexandria, Louisiana; West Texas Museum in Beaumont, TX; Museum of Art in Jackson, Mississippi; Dayton Museum of Art, Dayton, OH; Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile, AL; Meadows Museum, Shreveport, LA; Masur Museum of Art, Monroe, LA. He also exhibited his work at the Gallerie Christian Siret in Paris, France; Gasworks Gallery, London, England; Sculpture House Gallery, London, England. He received the Pollock/Krasner grant Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant, and has completed residencies at Bemis Center for Fine Art Omaha, Nebraska in 2003; Gasworks artist Residency, London, England; Richard Attenborough Center, Leicester, England; Santa Fe Art Institute Artist Residency, Santa Fe, New Mexico. He has lectured at several universities throughout the United States and England.
