Explore your musical creativity in an ideal city

If you enjoy writing music and studing music theory, then the bachelor of music degree with an emphasis in composition is for you. The degree is ideal for students with a strong interest in composing and places an emphasis on analog and digital synthesis using the latest technology for the preparation of musical scores. Students are encouraged to compose in a wide variety of styles and for diverse media. You will also have an opportunity to present a full recital of their own compositions during your final year.

In addition to course work, you will have the chance to study with Loyola's acclaimed artist faculty. The program is designed to prepare students for graduate work in composition or for freelance work as composers, copyists, or arrangers.
