Short Bio

Professor Robert Racine has over 22 years of experience in digital non-linear systems, broadcast television systems, and digital media networks, and holds an MFA in film production from the University of New Orleans.  Since 2001, he has taught courses in digital cinema technology, editing, visual effects, sound production and design, and 3D animation. Recently, Robert completed a 4K digital cinema production pipeline, including 5K Red Epic acquisition dailies processing, color grading, DCP creation, and 4K projection.

Robert’s creative interests lie within sound design for cinema; most recently, he served as sound designer and post supervisor for the film Brokedown Paradise, directed by Laura Medina. His research interests focus on workflow design for media production and the use of technology to create effective and efficient solutions. Currently, Robert is an Avid Certified Instructor and maintains technical support certifications for Avid non-linear edit systems and storage solutions.

Robert has designed and built solutions for household names including Cox Communications, Lockheed Martin, Louisiana Public Broadcasting, Arkansas Educational Television, Mississippi Educational Television Authority, Louisiana State University, and the University of New Orleans. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching youth sports, writing songs, and playing bass with his band, In His Company.
