Short Bio

Rich Collins is the Emmy-winning co-creator and co-star of the international hit Disney Channel series and touring act Imagination Movers. While living in New Orleans in the early 2000s, Rich and three friends founded the indie band aimed at young audiences and their parents. Together, they spent the next decade transforming the Movers into a global brand generating millions in revenue. Rich appears in seventy-five (75) episodes of the Disney Channel series, which has been broadcast to over fifty (50) countries.

Throughout his career as a singer, songwriter, drummer, guitarist, mixer, and producer (with both Imagination Movers and later solo releases), Rich has written and recorded over two hundred original songs, and has performed on Good Morning America, The View, and Live with Regis and Kelly. He has performed at the White House twice and toured across North America, Europe, and Asia. “Golden Pick,” a song from his latest solo album, was selected by Sirius XM Radio for rotation.

Besides his extensive work in the music industry, Rich spent close to a decade on the editorial team of New Orleans’ Gambit Weekly newspaper, where he earned several Press Club awards for his life and entertainment coverage. While working at Cox Interactive Media, Rich helped launch the official website for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Speech Communications from the Catholic University of America, and currently resides in New Orleans. Rich joined FAMIS in 2016 as a part-time instructor of contemporary ensemble in the Popular & Commercial Music Program.
