Ray Moore (Loyola BME ’80) is a first-call woodwind doubler and improviser (saxes, flutes, clarinet) active in the New Orleans music scene. Versatile in many styles, he brings his commercial music experience to bear in inspiring young musicians to pursue their craft.
He has performed and/or recorded on three continents with artists as diverse as the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mobile Symphony, Natalie Cole, Harry Connick, Jr., Nancy Wilson, the John Mahoney Big Band, the Al Belletto Big Jazz Band, Jeff Albert, Don Vappie and the Creole Jazz Serenaders, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Gladys Knight, and Gatemouth Brown’s Big Band, in addition to motion picture soundtracks. He has also produced two recordings as a leader; one in Brazil and the other in New Orleans with his groups RiOrleans and Brasilliance!
