Short Bio
Dr. Meg Frazier, Director of Choral Activities and Associate Professor of Music, has been with the College of Music and Fine Arts since 1998. A native of Texas, Dr. Frazier earned her Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music degrees at Sam Houston State University, where she studied conducting with Bev Henson. She then completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at LSU under the mentorship of Ken Fulton. Dr. Frazier has served as President of Louisiana ACDA and is currently Program Chair for the Southern Division ACDA Convention, scheduled for spring 2010.
At Loyola, Dr. Frazier conducts the university's three choral ensembles and teaches choral music education methods and choral conducting. She is an active clinician and guest conductor and has conducted honor choirs in Texas, Louisiana, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Mississippi, including the Kentucky Women's All-State in 2002 and the Louisiana Junior High All-State in 2000. Dr. Frazier enjoyed conducting the youth choir at the Montreat (North Carolina) Summer Music Retreat in 2003. She will return to conduct the Kentucky Women's All-State choir in February 2009. Dr. Frazier also had the honor of conducting the Linz International Choral Festival in Linz, Austria in June 2007.
Dr. Frazier is also the Director of Worship Ministries for North Cross United Methodist Church in Madisonville. Dr. Frazier enjoys studying all things medical (she is a Certified Medical Transcriptionist), travel, and reading. She and her husband, Rob, and stepdaughter, Lexy, live in Covington with canine kids Lili and Boo.
