Short Bio

John Reeks has studied with Vito Platamone, Robert Marcellus, and Stanley Weinstein. He has served the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in many positions, including president. He has performed with the New Orleans and San Antonio symphony orchestras, the Santa Fe and Glimmerglass Opera orchestras and in the Spike Jones Band. Reeks is also a member of the chamber ensemble, Amadeus & Friends. He is active in the International Clarinet Association and has had several articles published in its journal, The Clarinet. He has been with the College of Music faculty since 1992.
