Short Bio

Barbara Brainard's paintings, drawings and monotypes have been widely exhibited in group and solo shows since 1980. She was awarded the Pollock/Krasner Foundation Grant in 2007 and their Hurricane Relief Grant in 2005. She received a Louisiana Division of the Arts Fellowship (2000) and their mini-grant (2004). She was featured in 1999 New American Paintings. She is an active member of the Drawing Center Viewing Program (NYC) and the Los Angeles Printmaking Society. Her work is in the collection of the New Orleans Museum of Art and numerous university and private collections.
