Loyola welcomes Dr. Serena Weren as the new Director of Bands and Assistant Professor of Music. She holds degrees from Franklin & Marshall College, Temple University, Arkansas State University, and Arizona State University. Previously, she was the Director of Bands at Middletown High School South and River Plaza Elementary School in New Jersey.  Dr. Weren has served as a guest conductor and clinician for concert and marching bands across the country and in Guatemala.  In addition to her passion for conducting, she is interested in why humans make music, leading her to investigate the association of instrumental music making, social networks, and biomarkers that can aid in understanding our social and physiological relationship to music making.

Join us in welcoming Dr. Weren as she leads the Concert Band during their inaugural performance of the 2015-2016 performance season on November 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Roussel Hall. This concert is free and Open to the public.
