The trip, partially-sponsored by the Loyola College of Music and Fine Arts, took place Oct. 27-30 and helps both art and design students get a first-hand look at great works of art of the past and present, which may then inform their own art practice.

On Thursday, April 23rd Loyola Students from Christopher Deris' Visual Traditions class and Karoline Schleh's Drawing 1 class took an informative field trip to The Historic New Orleans Collection.

Visual arts junior Caitlin Clifford was commissioned to produce artwork for the New Orleans Downtown Development District's "Artification" project. The project, an endeavor with the Regional Transit Authority, has turned 14 city transit shelters into an outdoor gallery of contemporary art.
