Whatever area of art truly inspires you, you’ll find the flexibility you want to study it here. Merging a broad liberal arts curriculum with practical, hands-on studio courses gives you a great starting point for a career with museums, art galleries and more. Your senior year, you’ll participate in six hours of Internship Practicum with some aspects of practical and theoretical coursework in conjunction with the Senior Show program. You select your area of emphasis from painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, digital arts, photography, and art history.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art
Create your own vision of success
Here’s where you need to be if you plan to create for a living or help others learn to create – the extra emphasis on studio courses with the BFA in Studio program will give you the tools you need. It’s an intense program designed to help you develop not only technical expertise, but also a solid commitment to artistic quality and enhanced creative judgment.
During junior year, you’ll present current examples of your work to the faculty to be accepted into the Senior Show BFA coursework for senior year. You’ll have the opportunity to shine your senior year via participation in the Senior Show, which culminates in a one-person exhibition in Loyola’s Collins C. Diboll Gallery.
With a BFA in studio art, Loyola students have excelled in such professions as art education, graphic design, scenic animation, calligraphy, and medical illustration.

Minors
The Department of Art offers two minor degrees, in Studio Art and Art History. To declare a minor, first consult with a faculty member in the desired discipline. Next, obtain the necessary form from the dean's office of the college of your major, and follow the instructions.
